Intra-oral welding of temporary implant abutments with a pre-fabri- cated titanium bar: A new technique for accelerated rigid splinting of immediately loaded implants

چکیده
Although initial considerations in implant dentistry have claimed that the process of osseointegration requires on average an undisturbed healing of three months in the mandible and six months in the maxilla 1-3, an increasing interest has been noticed with regard to early and immediate loading of implants to expedite the restorative outcome. Donath et al. reported that load exerted at the implant interface may interfere with the process of bone healing and lead to fibrous encapsulation.4 However, clinical and experimental animal trials have shown that longterm success of removable and fixed prostheses of immediately loaded dental implants can be achieved.5-21 In a clinical study involving the analysis of a substantial number of implants, Degidi et al. demonstrated the predictability and high success rates of immediate functional and non-functional loading.22 Recently published results of a 7-year follow-up of immediately loaded implants revealed comparable outcomes for delayed loaded implants with a satisfactory level of osseointegration and high success rates. In addition, initial implant mobility does not inevitably prevent osseointegration.24 In general, micromotion at the implant interface has to be distinguished from uncontrolled masticatory forces. The peri-implant bone adjusts

Syncrystallization: a technique for temporization of immediately loaded implants with metal-reinforced acrylic resin restorations.
BACKGROUND Rigid temporization has been recognized to have a significant impact on the peri-implant tissue response in immediate implant loading since it reduces the mechanical stress exerted on each implant. PURPOSE A successful protocol for immediate loading of multiple implants depends on an adequate fixation and immobility of the implants to prevent the risk of micromovements in relation ...
متن کاملImmediate loading of the edentulous maxilla with a definitive restoration supported by an intraorally welded titanium bar and tilted implants.
PURPOSE The aim of this prospective study was to evaluate the concept of intraoral welding as a suitable technique for the fabrication of a restoration for the edentulous atrophic maxilla on the day of placement of axial and tilted implants. MATERIALS AND METHODS Thirty patients received three axial and four tilted implants in the edentulous maxilla. Immediately after implant placement, defin...

متن کاملSurvival rate, fracture strength and failure mode of ceramic implant abutments after chewing simulation.
The aim of this study was to compare titanium-reinforced ZrO(2) and pure Al(2)O(3) abutments regarding their outcome after chewing simulation and static loading. Forty-eight standard diameter implants with an external hexagon were divided into three groups of 16 implants each and restored with three different types of abutments (group A: ZrO(2) abutments with titanium inserts; group B: Al(2)O(3...
متن کاملA Metal-Acrylic Bar for Splinting Implant Impression Copings
Precise transfer of three-dimensional position of dental implants from oral cavity to the cast needs special considerations in impression making. It has been suggested to splint the copings by bars or acrylic resin material before making impression. Some problems regarding to polymerization shrinkage of acrylic resin have been reported. In this study, we describe a metalacrylic bar tha...
